WillisLogger Privacy Policy
Your log stays on your device. Always.
Effective Date: July 15, 2026
The Short Version
WillisLogger is a local-first amateur-radio logbook. Your log lives in a SQLite database on your device. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data, and there are no accounts or servers we operate. WillisLogger does talk to a handful of ham-radio services — callsign lookup, spots, rig control, and log upload — but only the ones you choose to enable, only using your own credentials, and never routed through us.
One exception applies to the Linux version. If you buy it directly from our store, our Merchant of Record (Lemon Squeezy) and payment processor (Stripe) collect your name, billing address, and email to complete the sale, and Lacy Digital Labs keeps only your email address — used solely to tell you about updates to the app you bought, never for marketing, and never sold. See “Purchases & Payment Processing” below.
1. Information We Collect
None. Lacy Digital Labs does not collect any personal information, usage statistics, crash reports, or analytics from WillisLogger. We operate no backend server for the application, and the app does not phone home to us.
2. Where Your Log Lives
WillisLogger stores your logbook and settings on your local file system:
- Every QSO and all ADIF fields are saved in a local SQLite database on your device.
- Virtual logs, application preferences, and any service credentials you enter are stored locally in a configuration store on your device.
- ADIF and Cabrillo import/export operate on local files you choose.
- No log data is uploaded to, processed by, or stored on any server we operate.
3. Optional Online Features You Control
WillisLogger can connect to third-party amateur-radio services to make logging easier. Each of these is optional and off until you enable and configure it, and each connects directly from the app to that service — never through Lacy Digital Labs. When you use them, information travels to the service you chose, governed by that service's own privacy policy:
- Callsign lookup — when enabled, WillisLogger sends the callsign you are logging (and your own login) to QRZ.com or HamQTH to retrieve station details. You supply your own account credentials.
- Spots — WillisLogger can fetch POTA and DX cluster spots over the web or a telnet cluster you configure. Connecting to a DX cluster typically transmits your callsign as a login, per standard cluster practice.
- POTA park lookup — retrieves park information from the POTA service.
- Log upload / sync — when enabled, WillisLogger uploads your QSO records to QRZ Logbook and/or Club Log using API keys or credentials you provide for your own accounts.
- Rig control — WillisLogger communicates with a local rig-control daemon (rigctld / Hamlib) or a FlexRadio device on your own network. This traffic stays on your local network.
- Digital logging bridge — WillisLogger runs a local UDP log server that receives plain-ADIF QSO records from other logging tools on your own computer or local network.
In every case, the data goes only to the service or device you selected, using your credentials. Lacy Digital Labs does not receive, proxy, log, or store any of it. If you enable none of these features, WillisLogger operates entirely offline.
4. Your Service Credentials
Credentials you enter for QRZ.com, HamQTH, Club Log, QRZ Logbook, or a DX cluster are stored locally on your device so the app can authenticate to those services on your behalf. They are never transmitted to Lacy Digital Labs. Treat them as you would any password, and remove them in Settings at any time.
5. Telemetry and Analytics
WillisLogger does not include any telemetry, analytics, or crash-reporting frameworks. We do not track how you use the application, which features you access, how often you use it, or any other behavioral data.
6. Tracking and Advertising
WillisLogger does not use cookies, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or any other tracking technologies. We do not display advertisements and we do not participate in any advertising networks.
7. Purchases & Payment Processing
If you purchase WillisLogger through the Apple App Store, Microsoft Store, Google Play, or any other distribution platform, that platform may collect transaction and account information as part of the purchase process. This data is collected and managed by the respective platform, not by us. Please refer to the applicable platform's privacy policy for details:
We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, Microsoft account, Google account, or any other store account credentials.
Direct purchases of the Linux version. The Linux edition of WillisLogger is sold directly from our own online store rather than through a platform app store. When you buy it this way, a few commerce partners are involved and a limited amount of information is handled off your device:
- Merchant of Record — Lemon Squeezy. Our store is operated by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the sale. To meet tax and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, billing address, and email address during checkout.
- Payment processing — Stripe. The financial transaction is processed by Stripe, which handles your payment-card details. We never see or store your card information.
- What we keep. From this process Lacy Digital Labs receives and retains only your email address. We use it solely to reach you about the app you purchased — for example, to let you know when a new version, patch, or feature is available. We do not use it for marketing, and we will never sell or rent it to any third party.
You can ask us to delete your email address at any time (see “Your Data Rights” below). For how these partners handle your information, see the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy and the Stripe Privacy Policy.
8. Third-Party Services
Other than the optional, user-enabled services described in Section 3 — each of which you connect to directly with your own credentials — WillisLogger does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party service operated by us. We are not a party to your relationship with QRZ.com, HamQTH, Club Log, the POTA program, or any DX cluster; their handling of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
9. Children's Privacy
WillisLogger is intended for licensed amateur-radio operators. Lacy Digital Labs does not collect any data from any user and does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
10. Your Data Rights
Because Lacy Digital Labs does not collect, process, or store any of your personal data, there is no personal data of yours on our systems to access, correct, delete, or transfer. Your log and settings exist only on your device under your full control. You can export your log to ADIF at any time, or delete the database directly. To manage data you have uploaded to a third-party service, use that service's own tools.
The one piece of personal data we may hold is the email address collected when you buy the Linux version directly from our store (see “Purchases & Payment Processing” above). You may ask us to access or delete that email address at any time by contacting our support center; we will delete it promptly, after which you will no longer receive our update notices for the app.
11. Data Security
Since WillisLogger does not transmit your data to Lacy Digital Labs, there is no risk of your data being intercepted, breached, or exposed through our systems. Your local database and configuration are protected by your operating system's built-in security mechanisms and any encryption you apply at the device level. Data you choose to send to a third-party service is protected in transit and at rest according to that service's practices.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
